Question How can i determine if my pioneer receiver compatible with ARC

I have the VSX-81TXV Receiver (Pioneer Elite) and have it connected to an LG TV through the HDMI ARC Port. I have an HD TV Antenna connected to the TV. I am trying to get the sound through the receiver and to the stereo speakers but am unable. How can I determine if my receiver is compatible with ARC? It is about 10 years old.

Your receiver predates HDMI version 1.4 so will not include HDMI ARC functionality. Your receiver utilises HDMI version 1.2 and ARC wasn't introduced until the advent of HDMI version 1.4.

You'd need to make an optical audio connection from your TV to the receiver if wanting to convey SD multichannel or stereo audio from the TV to the receiver.
